Bai Rui Xiang

Discover Bai Rui Xiang, a rare and exquisite rock tea from the renowned Wuyi region. The name, translating to berry scent, aptly describes the distinctive aroma of this Yancha (rock tea).

Wuyi Shan

The challenging terrain of Wuyi’s tea-growing areas makes industrial production almost impossible, which is why Wuyi teas is still harvested by hand. Committed to sustainable practices, the manufacturer produces this tea using purely organic methods, supported by the government as Wuyi Shan is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Wuyi mountain range, stretching between altitudes of 200 to 2058 meters, offers an ideal climate for Oolong tea production, with a mild average temperature of 21°C.

Wuyi Oolong tea

Tea production in Wuyi carries a tradition spanning a thousand years, and the historical knowledge of tea artistry is passed down through generations in the Chen family of Wuyi Shan. Thanks to this centuries-old wisdom, the tea leaves are processed into a class of its own as an Oolong tea. It’s no surprise that the Chen family’s teas, Rou Gui and Shui Xian, recently won the first and second place, respectively, at the Wuyi Yancha Championships. The traditional production includes drying and withering the tea leaves on bamboo trays and final roasting over charcoal fire in bamboo baskets.

Due to its stronger roasting process (compared with Taiwanese Oolong), this tea is particularly suited for connoisseurs who prefer to store and mature special teas.

Aroma: Mineral with a fruity scent
Oxidation: approx. 55%

Terroir: Da Shui Ken, Wuyi, China

Tip: The full depth of the aroma is best experienced when the tea is enjoyed at a slightly cooler temperature. Rather than drinking it too hot, allow it to cool down a bit in the cup for a more nuanced taste profile. This tea is perfectly suited for brewing in either a large cup or a teapot, thanks to its remarkable characteristic of not becoming bitter, even with extended infusion. Its generous yield makes it an excellent choice for multiple servings. Conveniently, there’s no need to strain the tea; simply let the leaves settle naturally at the bottom of your cup or pot, and enjoy the perfectly brewed infusion.
