Genmaicha is a Japanese tea specialty. For these Genmaicha is organically grown Sencha enriched with roasted organic rice. Because the roasted rice sometimes pops is Genmaicha also referred as pop-corn tea. Originally, Genmaicha was mainly drunk by the lower class because the tea was cheaper due to the added rice. But, nowadys is Genmaicha considered as a special tea and pleases tea drinkers with a malty aroma.
