Sencha of Brigthness is grown by Obubu Tea Plantation on the south-west slope and harvested in July. As with Kabuse Sencha, the tea bushes are shaded two weeks before harvesting. This makes this Sencha milder in taste but still retains its freshness. Because of the short steaming time of about 20 seconds, this type of steaming is called Asamushi. Standard steaming, on the other hand, is called Chumushi.

The Obubu Tea Plantation farm is located in Wazuka Township, Kyoto Prefecture, at an altitude of 500m above sea level. Kyoto is known as the cradle of the Japanese tea art. Many famous teas like Matcha and Gyokuro have their origin here.
