An extraordinary yuzamashi sculpted by master Sekiryu
This exceptional yuzamashi was sculpted by Master Sekiryu using Tokoname clay. Tokoname is one of Japan’s six ancient ceramic centers. High-quality ceramics have been produced here since the 12th century. The clay, which has a high natural iron content can be fired due to that fact at up to 1200 degrees Celsius.
This particular Kyusu was given a special look by reduction of the fire and with mogake technique. The mogake technique uses algae to create extraordinary patterns in the ceramics. This Yuzamashi holds up to 350ml and is ideal for cooling the heated water as well as a chahai for the tea itself. For this extraordinary Yazumashi we recommend the teapot Sekiryu.
