Uji Organic Matcha

Organic tea leaves from Uji were used for Uji Organic Matcha. The tea bushes used grow on the slopes and in the valleys around the city of Uji in Kyoto province. Kyoto, and Uji in particular, is known as the cradle of the Japanese tea art. Many famous teas such as Matcha and Gyokuro have their origins here.

In stone mills grounded Matcha

Crafting this exquisite Matcha begins with a meticulous process, where the tea leaves are carefully shaded for three weeks using the traditional Tana method. This crucial step, undertaken before harvesting, ensures the leaves develop a deeper flavor and a vibrant green color.

Once harvested, these leaves are skillfully processed into Tencha, the precursor to Matcha. The transformation into Matcha is achieved through a delicate grinding process, using authentic stone mills. This traditional method preserves the integrity of the tea, resulting in a fine, silky powder that embodies the essence of Matcha.

To maintain its freshness and quality, the finished Matcha is then packaged in an oxygen-free environment and kept refrigerated until it is ready for delivery. This careful handling from harvest to packaging ensures that each cup of Matcha offers a rich, flavorful experience, steeped in tradition and crafted with excellence.

Koicha and Usucha

Uji Organic Matcha is suitable for both Koicha and Usucha (thik and thin Matcha). But we recommend to try Koicha at least once to experiance the deep and complex flavor of this extraordinary Matcha.
